Repository's New Features

Release Date: on or before September 29, 2006

The following features were added to the Reliable Repository to create the 2007 version.  They are based on the suggestions and great ideas of our Repository's early users.  Many thanks to you and your patience with the process of building a world-class solution for transcript file delivery.

Multi-File Upload Control

Problem:  When uploading many files for a job, selecting the files one at a time was cumbersome, tedious and unproductive.

Solution:  We developed a state-of-the-art multi-file upload control that runs in your administrator panel on the Repository.  You will have the option to upload files based on single file selection (the way it used to work) or a multi-file selection (this new browser control).  When this multi-file upload control is used, files are queued into the upload window where folders can be selected/created and titles can be assigned.  You can select files from any location defined on your computer.  Select as many files as you want from varying locations, then just click <Upload>.

Once the upload starts, you can track its progress file-by-file or in total.  The upload process can also be canceled:

Restrict Authorized Users to Specific Folders

Problem:  In Acces$, Repository Users can be restricted from downloading files for a job on the Repository.  But there are times when you only want to restrict certain files from a user and not all of the job's files.  An example would be a multi-witness job where the user has only paid for some of the witnesses.  Or, a job that has transcript and exhibit files and the user has paid for one or the other.

Solution:  We added the ability to restrict authorized Repository users from selected folders.  The thought being that files can be organized into folders, by witness (for example).  You can then set permissions to the folder.  When the <permissions> button is used on a folder, the Repository displays a window listing all of the job's authorized users.  Selected users can then be restricted (disallowed) from the folder.

<Contact Us> button for a user restricted from a file or folder

Problem:  When a user was restricted from a file, the Repository just hid the <open/save> button.  This was obviously an issue because it prevented the user from knowing what to do.

Solution:  We added a button called <Contact Us>   When used, the Repository will display a window containing text you define using the Repository Parameters section in Acces$.  This text can be set/updated starting with version 2006.i3 of Acces$ released on September 28, 2006.
