ReporterSolutions - Enable Required Browser Component

Remote Desktop Web Connection ActiveX Control:  The Microsoft control that enables your connection is automatically disabled by Microsoft when Service Pack 3 (SP3) of XP is installed - go figure! Just click <tools> on the top menu bar, then <Manage Add-ons>, then <Enable or Disable Add-ons>. Highlight the Microsoft RDP Client Control, then click <Enable>

The Connect Button on the Agency Login Screen needs a Microsoft Browser component to work since the highly secure connection software that runs inside the browser is what's call an Active-X control.  This computer's security settings are restricting the control. To enable the control do the following:

  1. Make sure you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer and not some other Internet Browser.

  2. Add www.ReporterSolutions.com to this computer's "trusted" sites list.

  3. Install the Active-X control when prompted.

Adding ReporterSolutions to your trusted sites

Click <Tools> on your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser menu bar, then <Internet Options>.  Click the <Security> tab on the Internet Options window, then click the <Trusted Sites> icon.  Then click the <Sites ...> button to add our site.

Install the Active-X control when prompted by Internet Explorer web browser

Your web browser will automatically try to install what Microsoft calls an ActiveX component.  This component is required for this type of connection.

If you are using Windows XP, your browser may not install the required component until you say it’s ok.

If the above message appears, click <Ok> then look for one of the following information bars near the top of your web browser screen:

Click on the above information bar, then select:  Install ActiveX Control …

The following window may appear with a final verification from Microsoft to add the component for your web browser to use.  Just click <Install>.
